I have over thirty years of experience in public practice, with a vast background of knowledge and expertise in all areas of day-to-day business operations for both business and not-for-profit sectors. I would like to provide the following highlights of my career:
Began in public practice after graduating from high school, and enrolled in the Business Management Program at Capilano College.
Graduated with a Diploma in Business Management and was awarded the CGA Scholarship for one year of studies in the C.G.A program.
Throughout this period worked full-time in public practice, as well as providing a controllership function for various organizations.
Completed the C.G.A. program in the minimum time required, receiving the CGA Designation in May 1985.
Became an Associate in a small practice in 1986 and was instrumental in growing the business and negotiating a merger with a larger accounting firm of Jones, Richards & Company in October 1993.
Started as an Accounting Manager with Jones Richards & Company and became a Partner in December of 1997. In 2001 took on the role of Administrative Partner, looking after the day to day operations of the firm, as well as continuing to service existing client base.
In January 2003 launched my own private practice, and was pleased to receive 100% support from my existing clients and staff in this transition.
In May 2003 took on the position of Controller at the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and I continue to be a part of their dynamic team.
In April 2005 purchased another accounting practice and expanded my range of services.
In additon to my accounting career I am also involved in various not for profit associations such as the following:
Board member and Treasurer of the Lookout Emergency Aid Society.
Member and past Treasurer of the Soroptomist International of North and West Vancouver.

As an Accounting Manager at J. Casperson & Associates Ltd. one of my duties is to ensure that all accounting services provided to our clients are performed in a professional manner, are delivered free of errors, in a timely and consistent manner in compliance with the requirements of the CGA Association and Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.
I received my diploma in accounting in 1974 and in 1975 the certificate in Business Administration. I continued to upgrade my skills during the following years, and received my CGA designation in 2006.
After working for Jones Richards & Company for over a year, it is a pleasure to be working at J. Casperson & Associates Ltd. and look forward to continuing to do so for many more years.
I have 30 years of experience in the accounting field, during which time I worked both in industry and public practice. I worked for many different organizations, small and large, both in Mexico and in Canada. Due to the variety of work experience I gained the knowledge of working with many different accounting programs, dealing with various government regulations and remittances and performing various accounting, administrative and management duties. During the past 10 years I have been working in the public practice sector dealing with a variety of different clients and organizations. I provide business consulting services, as well as preparing financial statements, audit files and personal and corporate tax returns.
I joined J.Casperson & Associates Ltd. in September 2006. As a staff accountant, my duties are to provide bookkeeping, financial statements, personal and corporate income tax, auditing, and year end preparation services in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
In 1998 I graduated from XiaMen University in China and received a Bachelor’s degree in auditing.
From 1998 to 1999, I worked in XiaMen Pan-China Accounting Firm, where I did public auditing. .
In 1999, I attained a graduated diploma in accounting from XiaMen University.
From 1999 to 2003, I worked as a Financial Director in XiaMen Construction & Development Co. During this period, I did budgeting, accounting, internal auditing and management work.
In July 2005, I received my Bachelor’s degree in accounting from John Molson Business School of Concordia University in Montreal.
After graduation, I kept updating my knowledge in accounting and working on obtaining my CPA designation, which I received in 2008.
From August 2005 to August 2006, I worked in a small CGA firm where I did bookkeeping, general accounting and year end preparation.
In September 2006, I was pleased to join Jindra Casperson and her team.
After working in industry for five years I moved into public practice which I have now enjoyed for the past twelve years. I have acquired experience in almost every aspect of accounting from bookkeeping and computer consulting to preparation of year-end financial statements and corporate and personal tax returns. I service a variety of clients including a wide spectrum of not for profit organizations.
I started in public practice during January of 1996 with Jindra Casperson, CGA who was at that time with Jones, Richards & Company.
In January 2003, I was pleased to join Jindra Casperson in her own private practice.
I completed a part-time program at B.C.I.T. where I received a Management Certificate - Financial Management Professional Accounting Option in November 1998.
I believe in providing our clients the services and information they need to manage their businesses and achieve their personal and business goals.
I enrolled in the C.G.A. program and have completed courses in the 4th level.
I attended Douglas College from 1993 to 1996 and graduated with courses in economics, computer information, accounting and statistics. Upon graduation I enrolled in the CGA accounting program.
From 1996 to 2002 I volunteered my time as a Sunday school teacher.
In 1997 I started my career in accounting as a junior staff accountant for a public practice firm. From 1999- 2005 I helped in running my family business, a postal outlet in Vancouver West, and at the same time I worked as a bookkeeper for small retail business clients on a part-time basis
I joined J. Casperson & Associates Ltd. in January 2007 as a staff accountant. With all the resources in the office and support from Jindra and her co-workers it did not take long for me to decide to go into public practice on a permanent basis, and I therefore re-started the CGA accounting program. I received my CGA designation in June 2010.
My responsibilities are client bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements, personal and corporate income taxes, training junior staff, dealing with various government remittances and performing a variety of administrative duties.
I am fluent in Korean and enjoy helping individuals who have English as a second language.
After working in industry for six years I moved into public practice and joined J. Casperson & Associates Ltd. in March 2010.
I started my career in accounting as a receptionist/office assistant and since have worked for various organizations (private and publically traded companies), both small and large.
Previous to J. Casperson & Associates Ltd., I worked as an accountant for publicly traded companies where I was responsible for preparing audit schedules and working papers for the auditors. I have also worked on various audit engagements for not for profit organizations that vary in size and complexity. Having worked on both sides of the audit, I am able to see things from an internal and external perspective and understand the importance of processes and procedures from both perspectives.
Over the years I have gained proficient knowledge and skills with many different accounting programs and have dealt with various government regulations and remittances. I have acquired experience in almost every aspect of accounting from auditing to bookkeeping, to preparation of year-end financial statements and corporate and personal tax returns.
I completed my studies at BCIT in financial management and am currently completing the 4th level of the C.G.A. program.
I can fluently speak Punjabi and Hindi. Being proficient in Punjabi and Hindi allows me to work and serve not only those that speak English but also those in the Indo-Canadian community that are not proficient in English.
Personally, I believe that it is important to give back to society and I do my best by volunteering my time with many organizations that help those in need. I have worked with Guru Nanak Free Kitchen; Salvation Army and many other smaller organizations.
